Watercolor Style
Loose washes, soft edges, and the white of the paper left to breathe. Pigment allowed to pool and bleed the way watercolor does, with the detail held where it matters — the eyes, the set of the ears, the turn of the muzzle.
The lightest of the four styles, and the one that suits a bright room, a nursery, or a pale coat that would disappear against heavier paint.
Created from your own photograph. Every piece is worked individually, and no two are alike.
How it works
1. Order your size and framing.
2. Send me your photograph — one clear, well-lit picture is usually enough.
3. You see a proof within 24 hours.
4. Nothing is printed until you tell me it's right.
Choosing your photograph
Taken at your pet's eye level, in daylight if you can, close enough that their face fills a good part of the frame. Ears forward, a catchlight in the eye. If you're not sure, send it anyway and I'll tell you honestly whether it will work.
The print
Archival pigment inks on heavyweight fine art paper — acid-free, with inks rated to resist fading for over a hundred years. Giclée printing, one at a time.
Framed pieces come in a solid black or walnut moulding, dry mounted and backed, glazed with shatter-resistant acrylic rather than glass, and fitted with hanging wire. Ready to hang out of the box. Framed portraits ship in black unless you ask for walnut.
Every framed portrait includes a free 8x10 print. One for the wall at home, one for your desk at work.
10% of every sale goes to Senior Dogs and Friends Rescue. When an old dog loses their person, they're frightened and they have nobody. Your portrait helps one of them.
Your photograph is never sold or shared.
Senior Dogs and Friends Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Purchases are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions.
