THE DETAIL
Exceptional Detail. Real Depth.
This is three inches of Tex’s mane, at the resolution it prints. Every hair in his mane is there — and so is the brushwork behind him, which is what stops the background reading as a flat color and starts it reading as a painted surface.
Each accent color runs from a lit highlight down to a deep shadow, so one color sits comfortably against several wall colors
MANY TONES
Pigment inks on heavyweight fine art cold press cotton rag paper, rated to resist fading for over 100 years.
ARCHIVAL
Framed pieces ship without glazing, so the paper surface reads as paint rather than as a photograph behind acrylic.
NO GLASS
The Adventure Line
Your favorite photograph, painted. The dogs splashing through the surf, running down a trail, playing in the snow. The place stays the place — your beach, your trail, the day it actually happened.
From 16 × 20. A landscape needs room to read, so Adventure starts at 16 × 20 rather than 8 × 10.
HOW IT WORKS
Three steps, about three weeks.
First
Two or three clear photographs give the best result. Close up is better than far away — the more of your companion's face is in the frame, the more of it ends up in the painting.
Then
Pick from the seven above, or send a photograph of the room and we will sample the color off your own wall.
Finally
You approve a proof before anything is printed. Then it arrives as an archival giclée print, or framed and ready to hang.

WHY THE BACKGROUND MATTERS
Most pet portraits only fit one wall.
The background is one flat color. It either works in that room or it doesn't, and if you repaint or move it, it fights everything around it.
I know. I own several.
Ours aren't one color. Every ground runs from a lit highlight down into deep shadow, warming and cooling as it goes — so there's always something in it that agrees with the room it's in. That's why the signature neutral works on almost any wall without you having to decide anything at all.
And if you'd rather it announced itself, there are seven colors that will.
I work from Issaquah, Washington, usually with Woody and Farley asleep somewhere in the room.
